Privacy notice
Who is responsible
The Armenian Thoracic Association is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at the email address on our Contact page, or through the details on our Contact page.
The website is built and maintained for the Association by a technical service provider that acts on our instructions and may access the system only as needed for maintenance and support.
Visiting the website
You can read the public pages without giving us any personal data. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking tools, and we do not load fonts, scripts or maps from third-party services.
Our technical service providers process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you.
Membership applications: what we collect
If you apply for membership, you give us the information you enter in the application form. Depending on the form, this may include:
- your name, email address, telephone number, and country and city of residence;
- your professional title, position, specialty, workplace and years of experience;
- your education, qualifications, licence or registration details;
- the membership category you request and, where asked, a referring member;
- the documents you upload (for example a CV or a certificate);
- your declarations and, if requested, your typed name; and
- the language you used and the date and time of the application.
Why we use it and on what basis
We use this information to review your application, to decide on it, to contact you about it and, if you are accepted, to administer your membership (for example keeping the member register and your membership number).
Our legal bases are taking steps at your request before you become a member, our legitimate interest in running a professional association and keeping accurate records, and your consent where you give it (for example when you confirm the privacy declaration). Please do not include information about your health or other sensitive matters in your application or documents; we do not need it.
Who can see your data
Applications, documents and member records are private. They can be seen only by the Association's authorised administrator after signing in. Documents are stored privately and are never available through a public address.
We do not sell your data. It may be handled on our behalf only by technical service providers (such as hosting, database and storage providers) that are bound by contract to process it solely on our instructions and to keep it confidential. We do not share it with any other organisation unless the law requires it or you ask us to.
Storage, transfers and security
Your data is stored on secure infrastructure operated by our service providers, which may process it in data centres outside Armenia and the European Economic Area. Where this happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to give it an equivalent level of protection.
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, restricted and monitored access, and private storage of documents.
For security and to prevent abuse we keep limited technical information about connections only for as long as is necessary for that purpose, which is short, and then delete it. It is not kept with your application.
How long we keep it
We keep application and member information for as long as it is needed to review your application and to administer your membership, and afterwards only for the period the Association has set for record keeping or that the law requires. Applications that are not accepted are deleted after that period. You can ask us to delete your data earlier (see your rights below).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal data (access and portability);
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to erase your data, or to restrict how we use it;
- object to our use of your data and withdraw consent you have given; and
- complain to the personal data protection authority of Armenia or, if you live in the EU, to your national data protection authority.
Cookies
Visitors to the public website are not given any cookies. The administration area, which is only for the Association's authorised staff, uses one essential sign-in cookie that lasts up to 12 hours and a setting that remembers the chosen interface language in the browser. These are needed for the area to work and do not track anyone.
Children
This website and the membership application are intended for professionals and are not directed at children.
Changes and questions
We will update this notice if our use of personal data changes and show the date of the latest update above. To use your rights or ask a question, write to the email address on our Contact page or use the details on our Contact page.
